Fat Girl in a Little Coat!
SOooo as many of you saw, I gained 50 pounds, maybe 55 (I stopped counting at the end) while I was prego, but mainly in my belly and slightly in my butt and thighs..ugh!! I was actually lucky because I thought I was REALLY going to blow up everywhere. So the first 2 months I couldn't do anything in regards to exercise because of my c-section, which honestly I HATE to exercise anyway, I'd rather play sports for 2 hours, so needless to say I wasn't too upset about not being able to do much. And after the Magster came out, I dropped 35 pounds of the 55 lbs I had gained immediately! WHAT A RELIEF!
Not sure if you remember my earlier blogs about the before and after pictures you see on diet pill commercials?? Well that is what you are left with after baby...AWESOME! So you do not feel hot EVER, even when you look your best and people tell you how great you look because you know underneath your clothes that you are carrying around saggy, leftover fat from your abdomen...what you do feel like is a big HOT MESS!!! haha! I fit back in my old jeans, but it is not pretty and there is muffin top around my entire waist, not just the sides! And we have a ton of weddings this summer, so dress shopping has been SO fun, let me tell you. I am a medium in my chest area and a large in my gut/hip area, so it is just awful that I am a large to begin with, but nothing fits right...say it with me...hot mess!!
So once I got past the 2 month period I was able to start exercising, which let's face it, you are still figuring out the whole mommy sleep thing, so the most I was able to do was take walks with Mags, which worked for me. I begged Greg to bring the tred mill in from the garage and have used it 3 times...yes I know, I suck. I could be down there running right now instead of writing this blog. He just said to me this week, "I noticed you haven't used the ttred mill that i HAD to bring in!" I know, I know! It's not easy getting motivated, but it is a lot easier than it was before I had the baby because you can only use the excuse, "I just had a baby" for so long.
I did do a cleansing that a friend of mine suggested. It was a lot of brown rice pasta, rice, protein mix in smoothies, tons of veggies, chicken and fish.. and this NASTY vegetable soup...just typing about it is making want to throw up on myself! But it did make me feel physically better and it got me back on track with my eating habits. Now I am doing weight watchers on my own and I call my friend Katie every Friday to tell her what I weigh. I also have my weight posted on the refrigerator so that it is a reminder to eat right and so that when people come over they can see how fat I am and it motivates me to keep dropping the number.
So I will be brave now and tell you all that when the week before I had Maggie I was 186 pounds...and yes I am 5'2. HA! After I popped her out and they weighed me at the docs, I was 156 pounds...relief, but still way too big, especially for my height! So NOW...dun dun dun...I am 146 pounds, which I am happy to keep losing the weight and proud of myself for not letting it sit on me. I am also noticing that my flabby leftover sac of fat on my belly is getting smaller! YAY!!
Tonight I begin my biggest challenge..BOOT CAMP!! I am doing this every Monday and Thursday nights, hoping to get my big, fat butt in shape and looking good for the 8 weddings we have this summer!! I want people to say, "She just had a baby, doesn't she look great!" Instead of, "She just had a baby and that is why she looks a little chubby!" I will continue to let you know how the weight loss goes and would like to say that I am turning 30 this year and would like to try and take the first step and run a 5 mile run before I turn 30! A bunch of my friends have just run the Broad Street run in Philly and it is motivating me to start small and maybe do something big in the nest few years!! We shall see, but let's take baby steps and wish me luck at Boot Camp!

Thanks SO good to see you too! AND I enjoyed every bit of ice cream I ate during pregnancy! haha! I hate really healthy in the beginning and then by 6 months I was like screw it! So enjoy yourself, the fat I have leftover is worth it for the little munchkin you get out of it!!! Congrats and can't wait to see pics of you preggers and the baby too of course!

Kelly,
I'm just starting to not fit in my clothes, it sucks and scary to think how big my body will be getting over the next several months. I guess this is the first time in a woman's life where she can actually be bigger for a real reason so I'm going to try and enjoy that. I did just see you at one of the summer weddings you were blogging about and I did think that you looked great for just having a baby so whatever you are doing is working. It was so good to see you!
